About CVTail
CVTail helps job seekers turn one real profile into a resume tailored to each job description in minutes, without inventing anything.
Why CVTail exists
CVTail started in 2026 as a tool its maker built for himself. Applying to several kinds of roles at once meant rewriting the same CV over and over: reordering experience, renaming skills to match each posting, cutting what did not matter for that job. It was slow, repetitive, and easy to get wrong.
The fix was to keep one truthful profile and let software do the tailoring: paste a job description, see what already matches, adjust wording where needed, export a PDF. That is still the whole product, and it is deliberately narrow. CVTail is not a job board, a career coach or an application tracker; it does one job, and it tries to do it honestly.
What it does
- Keeps one profile: experience, projects, skills, education, certifications.
- Reads a job description and shows which requirements your profile already covers and which it does not.
- Suggests keyword aliases (for example writing HTML5 when the posting asks for it and your profile says HTML) and asks you to confirm each one.
- Generates a resume for that role that you can review, edit and export as a PDF.
What it does not do
CVTail does not invent experience, skills or results. If a posting asks for something that is not in your profile, it says so instead of writing it in. Tools that quietly add missing keywords produce resumes their owners cannot defend in an interview; we think that is the wrong trade.
It also does not promise applicant-tracking-system results, interview counts or hiring outcomes. Those depend on the job, the employer and you. CVTail makes the resume clearer and better aligned with the posting; the rest is honest work. Every generated resume is meant to be read and edited by you before it goes anywhere.
How your data is handled
Your profile and generated resumes are stored so you can manage them in your account, and are processed by third-party providers only as needed to run the service. Which providers are involved, what they receive and how to request deletion are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Who is behind it
CVTail is built and run by a small independent team, not a career platform or a recruiting business. Product questions, bug reports and feedback go straight to the people who build it: see the contact page.
